Imperial academics and partners in Bangladesh have co-authored 127 research publications between 2017 and 2022. Around 40% have been in the areas of Medicine and Health and 40% in Engineering and Technology (Scival data, March 2023). Please find some examples of recent partnerships below.
Mental health
Imperial’s School of Public Health leads a UK-Bangladesh research network that aims to help strengthen mental health services in Bangladesh. Bangladeshi collaborators include iccdr,b, Innovation for Wellbeing Foundation, JPGSPH and BRAC University:

Water salinity
The Centre for Diarrhoeal Disease Research Bangladesh (icddr,b) are partnering with Imperial as part of a new NIHR Global Health Research Centre on Non-Communicable Diseases and Environmental Change. The research in Bangladesh will look at the health effects of water salinity on local populations, including increased blood pressure, progressive kidney disease and gestational hypertension in pregnant women:

Health inequalities in cities
Between 2018 and 2022, Imperial College London led a major research partnership to explore ways to reduce health inequalities in cities around the world, including Dhaka. The partner in Bangladesh was BRAC university:
